Photogs: does anyone else get real bad wrist cramps from editing? I was almost certain I sprained my wrist but I didn’t fall on it or anything. I edit with a mouse though, maybe a tablet is less stress on the wrist?
Editing some wonderful photos from a sunset/late night trip to Joshua Tree last night with Lucas and a friend from the east coast. Stay tuned! We visited the art site of Noah Purifoy, such a crazy cool place…
There’s always that one fictional character that you have such a complicated relationship with because you love them but you also know that if they were real you’d punch them in the face at least once a day
Hey, I was wondering if you had any tips or special recipes for making/using fake blood for photo shoots. I was thinking of doing something with it and I know you've used it a lot in your photos.
I sure do! I use light corn syrup, a little bit of water to make it runny and as much red food coloring as my model is okay with. It stains a bit, so if your model is cool with it, add enough food coloring to make it look real. I usually do enough to make it a light red color and then just edit it later. It’s sort of lazy and makes editing a little harder but it saves the model from having stained skin :) I use maple syrup sometimes to darken it and add flavor.
unedited, see how it looks sort of weird and not dark enough? That’s just enough red food dye to color it. I like pale white skin tones so I desaturate around the area and then selectively color the red to make it darker.
